Configuring Services Using the OpenAccess SDK Management Console : Enabling Windows Standard Users to Start and Stop OpenAccess SDK Services

Enabling Windows Standard Users to Start and Stop OpenAccess SDK Services

This section describes how to configure OpenAccess SDK services to enable Windows standard users to start or stop OpenAccess services.
To enable this feature, you can do either of the following:
*Set the Windows system environment variable as OA_STD_WIN_USER=1.
*Add the ServiceEnvironmentVariable service attribute as OA_STD_WIN_USER=1. This updates the oadm.ini data-model file accordingly. Then, use the service administrator utilities, such as OpenAccess SDK Management Command Line or Microsoft Management Console (MMC) to manage services.
*The configuration file oadm.ini must contain OA_STD_WIN_USER=1. By default, this feature is disabled (OA_STD_WIN_USER =0).
*The configuration of OpenAccess SDK services for Windows standard users applies only to Windows client/server configurations.
*For the active configurations, only service administrative users can add the new configuration entry to the configuration file of the OpenAccess SDK Server, oadm.ini. The OpenAccess SDK Management Command Line and MMC utilities are not available for standard users.
