Configuring the ODBC Client : Using the ODBC Administrator

Using the ODBC Administrator

The first step in setting up an ODBC connection is creating an ODBC data source. You use the ODBC Administrator to create and manage ODBC data sources.
To start the ODBC Administrator, select Start / Programs/Progress DataDirect OpenAccess Client for ODBC SDK 8.1. Then, select ODBC Administrator.
Note: An ODBC Administrator does not exist for Linux/UNIX; you must edit the odbc.ini file using a text editor. See Configuring ODBC Client Data Sources on Linux and UNIX for instructions on creating ODBC client data sources for Linux/UNIX.
