OpenAccess SDK Server hosts the OpenAccess SDK SQL engine (or interfaces to a third-party SQL engine of your choice). OpenAccess SDK Server allows you to centrally configure your data access environment and manage data access activity.
OpenAccess SDK Server provides the client/server capability over a TCP/IP network. The protocol used for client/server communications is based on the DataDirect® SequeLink® wire-level protocol, including recent enhancements in functionality and performance. This component is used to implement client/server ODBC and JDBC drivers and ADO and ADO.NET data providers.
OpenAccess SDK Server is optimized to run on multi-processor systems through its multithreaded architecture and memory management. It can be deployed on multiple systems to provide rollover and load balancing. It is capable of handling thousands of concurrent connections. OpenAccess SDK Server can be run as a process (service, on Microsoft Windows) or it can be embedded within your server to take advantage of in-memory access to your data source.
